How is surgery performed and more specialised care provided?
On occasion, your pet may need further tests or treatments
(for example radiography, dentistry), surgery or intensive care
that cannot be provided in your own home. We can arrange for
these to be performed at a highly regarded local practice and
whenever possible we will provide transport to and from the
surgery if this is required. At all times we will comply with
your requests and wishes and co-ordinate your pet’s care with
the practice.
What happens in an emergency?
We will attend if possible and appropriate but as we offer
a mobile service we are not equipped for major emergencies.
Please contact us immediately and if we determine either by
examination or telephone consultation that your pet is in need
of urgent and possibly lifesaving treatment we will direct you
to the local practice as soon as possible, which will optimise
your severely ill pet's chances of a hopefully successful and
happy outcome. It is your responsibility to transport your animal
to the surgery in an emergency as time may be critical but if
you have mobility or transportation problems please discuss
this with us in advance as we will endeavour to provide transport
if needed. In all cases, we will ensure that we have worked
out an emergency plan for your pet in advance so that a stressful
situation is not made more so.
